Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US and is a writer from Greece, a syndicated writer of columns as well as a businesswoman. She's the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and owner of the independently free online news publication The Huffington Post. Born in Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England together with her family around 16 years old. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it before the age of 21. Her success as a columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she completed her studies. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few year later, she established an online voice portal that offered critiques of the political situation. Arianna was able to attract numerous prominent contributors to post their thoughts regarding politics and culture. Arianna first gained notoriety when she ran for California's recall election, in the place of Governor Davis. Arianna was also part of an initiative in Detroit that promoted fuel-efficient automobiles. Forbes named her as 12th on its top 10 list of Most influential women in the media. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their list of the top 100 in the year 2010. AOL, Inc. made her the President of their media company in 2011, after they purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included the other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos who was a management and journalism consultant. They were very close to her father. However, it was the relationship she had with her mother that formed her. Even as a young girl she demonstrated leadership skills that she's still known for. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years and was the third and first female to hold the position of president. In 1972 she graduated with an advanced degree in Economics. In the years following her degree, she was a columnist-critic and a host on TV. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she started writing her own books with his assistance.
